Placement 101
an introductory training program for new job placement professionals

3 Sessions in 2025

April 10, 11, 15, 16, and 23 | virtual
8:30 – 12:30 pm each day

May 20, 21 and 22 | Blaine MN
9:00 – 4:00 pm each day

September 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24 | virtual
8:30 – 12:30 pm each day

What you will learn:

▪ Essential information to establish effective relationships between Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Community Rehabilitation Programs

▪ Best practices in preparing job seekers to conduct a job search

▪ Best practices for finding job leads and establishing strong relationships with businesses

▪ How to prepare job seekers for the first few days on the job

▪ Follow-up strategies to ensure a good job match

▪ How to deal with challenging situations with job seekers / employers

▪ Tips for workload management and self-care

Who should attend:

Job Development/Placement staff who provide job placement services to persons with disabilities.

Please note:

1. Registration priority given to individuals most recently hired into a Placement role.

2. Participants must commit to completing the full program of (5) half-days virtually, or 3 full days in-person, to be eligible for course completion certificate.

3. Lunch is on your own for in-person trainings

Cost for the entire training and provided materials:

JPD recognizes the financially distressing environment our field is experiencing. In response, we are offering a scholarship of $150 off the training for the first 11 attendees to sign up per training session. Discount automatically applied in Eventbrite if still available.
MRA member: $200.00 (Normal Price)- With the scholarship $50.
General attendees: $240.00 (Normal Price) – With the scholarship $90.
