Doris Illies, President
I am excited to serve as MRA Board President in 2025. I have a long history with MRA and am hoping to lead us through the process of examining and strengthening our organization for professionals in MN I truly enjoy what I do and have been working in the field for more than 25 years. I have experience providing job coaching, job placement, job seeking/keeping skills, informational interviews, job shadowing, job exploration, pre-employment transition services and other support services.
Cristy Johnson, Past-President
Passionate leader with over 20 years of mentorship, training and customer experience who enjoys working with a team to problem solve and progress services in our field. Employed through Guidance and Career Services and have been working with individuals with disabilities and partnering with businesses for over 18 years. I have been involved with MRA for multiple years and have served various roles on the MRA and JPD Division Boards. I am very passionate about the incredible work MRA does and truly enjoy being part of such an exceptional team.
Shannon Schubert, Secretary
I have a strong foundation in education and extensive experience in rehabilitation. I am the former president of another prominent organization, and I bring seasoned leadership and a wealth of experience in conference planning, along with roles as a university supervisor and adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas. A serial entrepreneur, I have successfully launched and managed multiple small businesses, showcasing a passion for innovation and community impact. My diverse background uniquely positions me to contribute effectively to MRA’s mission
Tammy Radloff, Treasurer
I am currently a Senior Disability Compliance Advisor for the Return-to-Work Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I previously worked at Ability Building Center in Rochester, as a Job Coach, Placement Specialist, and Program Coordinator. I have 31 years of experience directly associated with the placement, retention, ADA accommodations, leave and absence case management, and advocacy of disabled and injured workers in the workplace. I’ve been a member of the Job Placement Division (JPD) of MRA since 2002, currently serving as the Treasurer, and on the Executive Board. I previously served as the JPD Vice President, Training Committee Chair, and SE Minnesota District Representative.
Austin Beatty, Vice-President
I have provided employment-related supports to the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities since graduating from the St Paul College Interpreter Training Program in 2010. Starting out as an intern, I quickly knew this was the right path for me and decided to commit to a career in this field. After working with a few other employment agencies, I joined Rise, Inc. in 2016. I got involved with MRA Job Placement and Development division (JPD) in 2018, serving as Secretary of JPD as well as a statewide Placement 101 trainer since that time. I joined the MRA board as Vice President in 2024.
Alex Breiland, President-Elect
I have been working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for State of Minnesota’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services since January 2017. I am a graduate of the Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling program at St. Cloud State University. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). My area of focus include working with transition age youth with disabilities and youth who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I have previously served the MRA board as a student representative, program co-chair, secretary, and Vice President, President, & secretary of MRA’s Transition Specialties Division. Currently I am serving as TSD President. I worked with Amber to create MRA TSD in 2018.
